Sapele Mahogany’s heartwood ranges from dark reddish-brown to deep shades of purplish-brown. It has a fine texture and an interlocked grain that is sometimes wavy. The wood also has a very lustrous appearance, accentuating the wood’s depth and rich brown tones. Sapele Mahogany is moderately durable and easy to work with, used also for cabinetwork and fine furniture. Janka Hardness Scale Reading of 1500 PSI.
